SPACEREX™
One of the side projects at BALANCED Media Technology that I got to partake in was SpaceRex, a retro-arcade style project in a similar gameplay style to Q*bert. This little slice of the project was developed in order to demonstrate a video game's potential to entice the player to interact with data clustering problem related to drug-resistant cancer research through a user-friendly game interface. By “neutralizing” blocks in the game, you’re essentially removing ineffective properties of known medical compounds, thereby boosting the overall projected effectiveness of new compounds which in turn.
I was brought on to this project to quickly bring new life into this prototype as a Generalist Programmer. I lead the changing of the art assets, animation tie-ins, Cinematic Tutorial Feature, and other misc. tasks within the confines of the Unity game project.
